Past Petrospective

To everyone who helped me set up my weekend Petrospective at the EBA: Thanks! I wouldn't have done it without Rene, because it was actually quite a bit of work. He helped out a lot, and the van sure came in handy. I would also like to thank Karen for inviting me and the EBA artists for putting up with me and my guests for the weekend.
The exhibition was well worth it for me, it is always good to look at your paintings outside of the studio, and the EBA has great wall space and light. There was a steady trickle of people at the opening and all through the weekend. For the Sunday afternoon presentation, we scrounged together about 40 chairs that all seemed to fill up. It was gratifying to get this kind of support from fellow artists and friends. Thanks!

The whole exercise gave me a chance to look back and see where my own art and my ideas come from. My talk became a little personal and revealed something about my life before I went to art school at age 37, stuff that never comes up in my professional life. From the reactions I got, it appeared that my experiences resonated with those of quite a few women in the audience.
Finally, I want to thank all the people who took a piece of art home with them, and parted with some of their money, which allows me to feel a little less guilty about painting a few new ones!
As promised, I am posting some websites here, mentioned during my talk on exchanges and residencies, and I just want to re-iterate that, if anyone wants more info or discuss possibilities, just let me know.
